Why we do what we do

Jesus said: "I was hungry and you fed me. I was thirsty and you gave me to drink. I was naked and you clothed me. I was a stranger and you invited me in. I was sick and you looked after me. I was in prison and you visited me.

Moreover Jesus says, "In as much as you have done it unto the least of these, you have done it unto me."

The Parable of the Sheep and the Goats in Matthew's gospel is what drives our mission and services.

food pantry

I was hungry and you fed me.
I was thirsty and you gave me to drink

Our food pantry is open during the hours noted and no appointment is necessary.  We have no lengthy forms to fill out, only a one-line reporting form for the Utah Food Bank as required by the Feeding America program.

Our food delivery comes every other Wednesday at which time the food pantry is closed for restocking.  We also get a truckload on Friday afternoon. We are an equal opportunity provider, and food is available to anyone in need regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age, disability, or any other factors.

Free Clothing Room

I was naked and you clothed me

In addition to our already low prices on gently used clothing, we also offer a free clothing distribution room. Clothes that are in wearable but perhaps not as nice of a condition go in to this room. Clothes that have not sold off of the sales floor within a reasonable amount of time also go into this room for a time before going out to clothing recycle.

No clothing goes to waste, and clothes that are not taken from the free clothing room in a predetermined period of time, get recycled to third world countries, often Mexico and Africa.

Prison and hospital visitation

I was sick and you took care of me.
I was in prison and you visited me

No one likes to be in the hospital sick. No one really likes to be in prison for that matter.  Although we can't do much to get you out of jail or prison, we will come and visit to offer hope and encouragement and prayer.  We offer prayer if you are sick and the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well.  Although we can't take the place of your doctor, (or discharge you from the hospital), we will offer our prayer in faith and maybe just get you out earlier than expected.  Myself - John, my wife Tanya, or our board member Maxine will come and offer a listening ear, a prayer, or a word of encouragement.
