Compassionate Sheep

Our Mission:

The mission of Compassionate Sheep Thrift Store is to provide basic human needs to anyone in need without regard to gender, age, race, color, ethnicity, disability, religious affiliation, etc. We provide a free food pantry, free showers for homeless individuals, and a free clothing distribution room. All of these services are funded through the not-for-profit Compassionate Sheep Thrift Shop. Come check out what we have to offer.

Our Services

Current Services:

Thrift Shop:  This is how we fund our services, so please come check out our thrift shop at 1620 South State Street in Orem. We are between Mattress Dealzz and Great China Restaurant. Come check out our Clothing, Household Goods, Toys, Electronics, and other things.

We also provide a free Food Pantry, free Homeless Showers, and a Free Clothing distribution room.

Future Services:

In the future we plan to provide laundry services for homeless individuals, housing referral services, financial education services, and many other services to allow people to better themselves. Our goal is not to enable (people to continue living the lifestyle they are living) but to EMPOWER (people to better themselves and get out of their current situation).

Our Impact

Although we are a relatively new organization, (we opened our doors in August of 2017), we feel we have already made an impact on the community and people we serve.  Many of our clients and customers are repeats and we are always reaching out to new people.

3000+ people

800+ families

Served via our food pantry

Over  3000 people and 800 families, who may otherwise have not had means to have received food.

No child should ever be left hungry!

500+ showers

200+ free clothing

Renewed outlook on life

The change in people after a fresh change of clothes and a shower, is amazing.  One lady in particular, and perhaps others, came back with a new job and a new lease on life.  Have a job interview and no clothes or shower for it, come see us. That was personally my biggest hope in providing these services.

Pounds of food

A special thanks to our food pantry volunteers that receive, sort, stock, and distribute our food.

Trying to gather an estimate of the amount of food served is difficult. We have several food sources, some of which is not weighed, and unfortunately, even some of the food in our pantry spoils or goes out of date.

Get Involved

We can only provide the services we do because the thrift shop funds our services. The best thing you can do for us is to come in and purchase things from the shop. Your continued support, will allow us to continue to offer our services.

Of course, we also can only survive because of our volunteers. Volunteer any time between the hours of 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Sign Up For a Program

No sign-up is necessary for our food pantry, showers, or free clothing distribution. A one-line reporting is filled out in the food pantry for tracking purposes as required by the Feeding America program.

Sign up for the CSFP - Commodity Supplemental Food Program food boxes in store.

Volunteer opportunities

We are open for volunteers and community service hours any time from Monday to Saturday from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. when we are open.

Food delivery days are Wednesday morning and Friday afternoons which are great times to volunteer.  Monday is our restock day which is another great day to volunteer in which we need a lot of help.

Any day is good to volunteer though. We survive by our volunteers

Make a Donation

Clothing, household goods, and other gently used items are accepted during operating hours of Monday to Friday, from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.

We also accept food donations for the pantry during those hours.
